Tepsim Boulevard at the entrance to Savion lit up on Thursday evening (11/23) as children from the settlement stood adorned with flowers and Israeli flags. Their mission was to bring joy to the soon-to-be-wed couple, Aden Sebag (28) and Ohad Kadosh (30), both architects and residents of Ofakim, who had dreamt of a sophisticated wedding.
Originally planning to tie the knot in an event garden in Ofakim, the couple had to call off their meticulously planned wedding, scheduled a year in advance, due to the 'Iron Swords' conflict. This decision followed an Order 8 call for Ohad, currently serving in the 906th Mortar Battalion in Gaza.
In a heartwarming turn of events, businessman Roni Insaz, co-owner of the Scoop chain, caught wind of the couple's story. He generously offered his home for a celebration, organizing an extravagant wedding for 200 family members, friends, and approximately 40 fighters from Ohad's company who had to temporarily leave Gaza for 24 hours. Insaz collaborated with the bride, Eden, in planning every detail after the assurance that Ohad would have a 72-hour break from Gaza.
At the entrance of the transformed house , a welcoming reception awaited the guests, featuring a gourmet dinner, an extensive drinks bar, and a live music band. The chuppah ceremony commenced, led by Rabbi Shmuel Bistritzky of the religious council of Savion, and Rabbi Assaf Vakinin of Ofakim.
The newlyweds were in for a delightful surprise as volunteers, including stand-up artist Adir Miller who hosted the wedding, and singers Aden Hasson and Lior Narkis, graced the celebration. Live performances and dancing continued until the break of dawn.
Expressing her gratitude, the bride, Eden, extended her congratulations to the Insaz family, saying, "I am overwhelmed by the actions and generosity of the people of Israel. Stepping into this wonderful family's courtyard, I couldn't believe my eyes—the most beautifully decorated event garden I have ever seen! I thank God for this incredible wedding and for everyone who contributed. The excitement is indescribable—sometimes, everything turns out for the best."
Businessman Roni Insaz shared his perspective, stating, "I view this event as a mission. There is no greater mitzvah than helping a young couple establish a home in Israel! This is a milestone for continuity, and our small acknowledgment for Ehud's service in Gaza.
