Israel Police reported that they were working to restore order during unexpected and unlawful protests outside the Tel Hashomer IDF base in Kiryat Ono on Sunday morning.

The haredi protesters gathered at the recruitment center on the occasion of a cohort of ultra-Orthodox combat support soldiers being recruited into the IDF.

The public was advised to find alternate routes until the matter was resolved.

Shortly after the initial statement, police released a second statement noting that protesters were confronting security force personnel outside Tel Hashomer while shouting abuse.

"Despite attempts to engage in dialogue, the rioters continue to congregate at the site and confront police officers, shouting terms like 'Nazis' and 'terrorists' at the security forces," the police said.
