Israel Police arrested three east Jerusalem minors for attacking several other minors who were praying at the Little Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City on Sunday.
The incident was observed by nearby surveillance systems, prompting an arrest operation. The suspects were detained and taken in for questioning, according to a police statement.
Also on Sunday, police arrested a Maccabi Tel Aviv fan at Yad Eliyahu Arena, after they were found to be carrying 59 flares and a gram of cocaine, according to a KAN News report.
Independence Day murder of Yemanu Binyamin Zalka
These are the latest crimes committed by minors, the most notable of which was the Independence Day murder of Yemanu Binyamin Zalka, a pizzeria manager in Petah Tikva.
Zalka, 21, was working at a local Pizza Hut when a group of teenagers entered the premises, causing disruption and vandalism, which led to a brief confrontation when Zalka intervened.
The youths left the premises, but after Zalka finished his shift, the group ambushed him outside the restaurant, where he was beaten and stabbed.
A total of 16 suspects were indicted in the case.
In late May, the State Attorney's Office extended the detention of all suspects until further notice following an extensive hearing in the Central District Court. As a result, the defense attorneys' requests to secure the release of some of the minors earlier that week were rejected.
