An increasing number of IDF soldiers are donning a mustache, a popular Instagram page has documented.

Hapashuta (The Simple Person) has some 560,000 followers.

"IDF soldiers, as we've seen in the last two days, you are handsome,” the post reads. “It's a shame to ruin it with a Jordanian look."

An international trend

In 2020, several international celebrities such as Timothee Chalamet, Harry Styles, Lil Nas, and Justin Bieber dabbled in the mustache trend, showcasing their style expertise.

Accompanying the post is a photo of soldiers donning their uniforms and showcasing their new mustache.

Notably, Israeli actress and comedian Tzipi Shavit also shared her thoughts on the matter by posting the same photo.

"In solidarity with the reservists growing mustaches, I decided to join the trend,” she wrote. “Although, I must clarify that I didn't actually grow a mustache, I just didn't shave it off."

The post features a selection of responses, showcasing women's opinions on this new trend.

However, the most dominant response conveys a plea for the soldiers to return home with neatly trimmed and groomed beards.
