Longtime Jerusalem Post cartoonist Yaakov “Dry Bones” Kirschen’s popular Passover Haggada is once again on offer through Amazon ahead of the holiday next month. The lavish Haggada, generously annotated with Dry Bones cartoons, provides a complete, traditional text in Hebrew and English.
“Everyone knows that the Jews have survived as a people, and nobody really knows why. They think we have a secret book, and we do, but its identity is more obvious than most would think. The secret book of the Jews is the Passover Haggada. We have a guidebook for a ceremony that we do in our homes, every year, in order to teach the next generation,” says Kirschen.
For the page layout of the Dry Bones Haggada the Dry Bones team decided to use a uniquely Jewish approach. It is modeled on the layout used by the pages of the Talmud; the main text appearing in the middle of the page, being surrounded by commentary. In this Haggada, the traditional text and translation appear in the middle of each page, surrounded by Dry Bones cartoon commentary.
The Dry Bones Plague of Frogs activity workbook is a companion piece to the Dry Bones Haggada. Beyond origami, with this activity book your seder table will spring to life with a “plague” of colorful frogs which you’ve built yourself.
