Jewish settlers allegedly burned a chicken coop and trucks belonging to Palestinian residents from the West Bank, and also attacked and seriously injured a Palestinian villager, Hebrew media reported on Sunday.

The incident is reportedly a retaliation for a previous incident where a settler was attacked with stones by Palestinians from the affected village.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, settlers attacked the village of Qusra near Nablus, setting fire to two structures along with two poultry farming sites.

A settler from a nearby town had been previously attacked with stones by villagers of Qusra, according to Israeli public broadcaster KAN. He alleged that on his way from Esh Kodesh to Ahiya, he encountered a barbed wire barrier and was immediately attacked by a group of Palestinians.

The report noted that the road he was taking, which he described as a shortcut to Ahiya, passed through Palestinian private property.

"IDF forces rushed to the village area following a report of Palestinians throwing stones at Israeli civilians who entered the Palestinian village area," the IDF said in a statement.

"Additional IDF and Border Guard forces rushed to the area of the villages of Qusra and Jalud, following a report of arson by Israeli civilians on the outskirts of the villages and an attack on a Palestinian who was injured and taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Upon their arrival, the forces worked to remove all Israeli civilians from the area. The incident is being investigated by the security forces," the military added.

Security cabinet approves proposal to deal with Jewish settlers' violence

The situation comes days after the Security Cabinet approved a policy to deal with settler violence and Jewish settlers' attacks on Palestinian villages.

This was made after an important push from the US government, which urged Israel to combat these situations in the West Bank.

The move will enforce the construction ban of Israeli settlements in Area B of the West Bank, and would immediately evacuate any settlement in the area.

While the decision was not publicly shared with Hebrew citizens for political reasons, it was immediately shared with the Trump administration after its implementation.
