Two IDF soldiers were moderately wounded, and six others were lightly wounded when an explosive drone fell in the area the soldiers were operating in within southern Lebanon, the military confirmed on Monday.
The soldiers were evacuated to the hospital for further medical treatment.
Earlier on Monday, the IDF said that once it completes its operation against Hezbollah in Bint Jbail in southern Lebanon in the coming days, there will not be any remaining major fights for it to undertake in the area.
In addition, the IDF added that there were still several areas where it would continue to clear Hezbollah weapons that it had found during its invasion of southern Lebanon.
Such clearing operations could continue for a longer, somewhat indefinite period.
Further, the IDF might still engage in limited fighting with leftover Hezbollah forces in parts of southern Lebanon who have not withdrawn north of the Litani River with most of Hezbollah's other forces.
Senior IDF intel. officer: In minutes, we devastated Hezbollah, killing hundreds of terrorists
In minutes during the major IDF attacks on Hezbollah on April 8, the military devastated Hezbollah, killing hundreds of its fighters and destroying dozens of its key command centers, a senior IDF intelligence official said on Monday.
It is rare that IDF intelligence officials make public statements, but with the Lebanon war potentially wrapping up soon, the military seemed poised to try to take a victory lap regarding its accomplishments.
According to the senior IDF intelligence official, every major strategic war-fighting area of Hezbollah was deeply harmed during the attacks, which spanned Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.
The official said that the IDF continues to reveal additional Hezbollah fighters and officials who were killed as more time passes.
During the attacks, the IDF said that it killed around 250 Hezbollah terrorists during the short, but lethal, minutes-long attack.
