Israeli security forces killed two terrorists linked to the abduction and captivity of Israeli hostages in separate air strikes on Tuesday and Wednesday, the military confirmed Friday.

Ahmed Hussein Mohammed Kafina, a commander in the Mujahideen Brigades who participated in the kidnapping of Israeli hostages on October 7, was killed on Tuesday. Abdelrahim Abdelhai Yusuf Khirdi, a deputy commander in Hamas’s military wing who was involved in holding Romi Gonen and the body of Sgt. Noa Marciano after her murder, was killed in Gaza City on Wednesday.

The Mujahideen Brigades is a Gaza-based Islamist terrorist group distinct from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Kafina was among the terrorists who invaded Israel during the October 7 Massacre, leading a group of terrorists under his command.

He participated in the kidnapping of Avinatan Or and Noa Argamani and directed others involved in the kidnapping of Sudthisak Rinthalak, according to the IDF.

Kafina remained active throughout the war and had recently continued advancing plans to attack IDF troops and Israeli civilians, the military said.

The strike that killed Kafina occurred days before US President Donald Trump announced an agreement on Hamas disarmament. Gazan sources told Reuters that another strike occurred after the announcement on Friday, wounding several Palestinians. The IDF has not confirmed the report.

Hamas deputy commander involved in holding Gonen, Marciano killed

Khirdi was also among the terrorists who invaded Israel during the October 7 Massacre. According to the IDF and Shin Bet, he also worked as a doctor at Shifa Hospital.

At the beginning of the war, Khirdi was involved in holding Gonen in the Gaza Division area and at Shifa Hospital. He was also involved in holding Marciano’s body in the Gaza City Division area until it was recovered by the IDF.

Khirdi continued advancing terrorist activity against IDF troops and Israeli civilians throughout the war, particularly in recent weeks, the security forces said. He posed a threat to Israeli forces and was therefore killed in an aerial strike, according to the statement.
