US President Donald Trump arrived in Israel on Monday on the second leg of his first overseas trip since entering office and said he had new reasons to hope for peace and stability to the Middle East after his visit to Saudi Arabia.
The American leader was greeted in an elaborate red carpet ceremony at Ben-Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv before he headed to Jerusalem for meetings with President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In the capital, Trump was also due to appear at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and become the first sitting US president to visit the Western Wall.
