A video, depicting British soldiers emptying their hand-gun ammo during target practice into what seems to be a large poster of Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, was shared on social media and is now being investigated by Royal Military Police.
“This behavior is totally unacceptable,” a British army spokesperson told CNN, “and falls well below the high standards the Army expects.”
The four soldiers appear to be members of the 3rd battalion parachute regiment and the video appears to be shot in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The video was shared on Twitter by @StingRaeSpec and was now removed, Metro reported.
Former British soldier who was awarded the Military Cross Trevor Coult shared the video and added “Not looking good for Labour leader” before adding an emoji of a laughing smiley.
It is possible the video is a fake.
While may see this as a harmless prank, it British politicians have been assassinated before. British MP and Labour party member Jo Cox was murdered in 2016 by Thomas Mair, who shouted “Britain First!” as he committed his crime. He was found to hold radical right-wing views.
