Proposed rail line will connect Galilee to national railway
One of the lines, running from Kiryat Shmona to Tiberias, will be 60 kilometers long, 22 kilometers being laid under tunnels, with the estimated cost of this venture being around 10 billion shekel.

Three proposed railroads lines will connect the northern cities of Kiryat Shmona and Tiberias to the national train network, according to a report on Army Radio on Sunday.One 60-km. line, running from Kiryat Shmona to Tiberias via 22 km. of tunnels, will cost an estimated NIS 10 billion.A spur off the Haifa-Beit She’an line will run from Afula to near the Baruch Padeh Medical Center, formerly known as the Poriya Medical Center, above Tiberias. While engineering details and budgets have not been finalized, the project has been ball-parked at NIS 3b.A third line will connect the two Galilee lines to Tel Aviv and bypass Haifa. Estimated travel time Kiryat Shmona to Tel Aviv will be two hours. The projects are expected to be completed in 2030.
