Police yet to rule out terror attack in murder of farm worker on moshav

Central District police are investigating the murder of an Israeli agricultural worker Wednesday night as a possible nationalist attack, and have tasked their special investigative unit with the case.The spokesman for the district said Thursday that at the moment all motives are being examined by investigators and none has been ruled out, including that it was a work dispute.The victim, 70-year-old David Bar Kafra of Rehovot, was attacked by a group of agricultural workers – possibly illegal Palestinian laborers or Thai agricultural workers – and beaten with a blunt object, while working in a field at Moshav Pedaya.Bar Kafra was rushed to Assaf Harofeh Medical Center in Tzrifin in serious condition, but succumbed to his wounds Wednesday night.Bar Kafra’s son, Daniel, is the spokesman of the Religious Services Ministry.He called on the police to carry out the investigation quickly and efficiently.
