Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that "the most important mission is to ensure life" and that he "is speaking with President Trump about it," during a Sunday meeting with Druze and Circassian local authorities heads at the Dead Sea.
"I want to tell you what the most important mission is - to ensure life. I am committed to this, and by the way, I am also speaking with President Trump about it," he said during the meeting, adding that he is committed to using all the power of the State of Israel to complete this mission.
"I see it in the heroic soldiers. I see it in the bereaved families that break my heart. I see it in the infinite display of valor of the Druze fighters and commanders. And I am committed to it from a very young age; these are not just words," Netanyahu added.
The meeting where Netanyahu spoke included the chairman of the Local Government Center, Haim Bibas; the spiritual leader of the Druze community, Sheik Mowafaq Tarif; and the chairman of the Forum of Druze and Circassian Local Authority Heads and head of the Kasra-Sme'a Council, Yasser Gdeban.
Netanyahu talks with Trump as Iran responds to US
Netanyahu held a talk with US President Donald Trump on Sunday night, a source familiar with the details told The Jerusalem Post.
Hours later, Trump said that the latest Iranian proposal was unacceptable, with reports from Iranian media claiming that it was focused on ending the war permanently and lifting all sanctions against the Islamic regime.
"I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called “Representatives.” I don’t like it - totally unacceptable!" Trump wrote on a Truth Social statement.
Additionally, Netanyahu also talked about Iran, focusing on the enriched uranium still present in the country, during a Sunday night interview with CBS.
"We've degraded a lot of it. But all that is still there, and there's work to be done," he told CBS News' Major Garrett in an interview on 60 Minutes.
