Well-known entertainer killed in shooting at Rishon Letzion restaurant
Three arrested and six detained in suspicion of the shooting.

A well-known singer and actor was killed Thursday night in a shooting at a party he had been performing at during an argument in which his brother was also shot.Roman Simhaev, 41, was shot during a private party at west Rishon Lezion’s Ariston restaurant, which doubles as an events hall. The shooting happened during an argument that started outside the restaurant after Simhaev’s performance. Simhaev’s brother arrived at the scene shortly after and was shot and moderately wounded.Simhaev was taken to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon in serious condition, where he died of his wounds.Ch.-Insp. Maor Goren of the Rishon Lezion police said that officers received a call about a shooting at the restaurant at around 3 a.m. and officers from around the subdistrict were dispatched to the scene.Within hours they had arrested three people and detained another six, Goren said.The three people arrested following the shooting appeared in court on Friday for remand extensions, where the judge ordered two of them kept in custody for five days and the third for three days.Police are investigating whether Simhaev’s murder was premeditated and not simply part of a fight that spun out of control. Simhaev acted in the Israeli sitcom The 80s and was a well-known Bukharan music singer. He recently took part in the filming for the second season of The 80s that is scheduled to air later this year.
