Western Wall worshipers limited to groups of 20 to aid social distancing

Prayers at the Western Wall will continue to be restricted to groups of 20 people, to keep the site in accordance with the directive issued by the government, the Western Wall Heritage Foundation has confirmed.The Western Wall Plaza in Jerusalem's Old City is currently divided with barriers into a number of sections to ensure social distancing can be adhered to. Those will remain in place, with a limit of 20 people per section, keeping the site in line with the latest regulations, which have limited gatherings to ten people indoors and 20 outside."In accordance with the conclusions reached by the National Security Council and the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, and with approval of the government, prayers at the Western Wall Plaza will continue with 20 worshipers in every prayer section in the external Western Wall Plaza," the organization said in a statement."The Western Wall Heritage Foundation requests that those who come to the Western Wall continue to strictly abide by the required regulations for the sake of everyone's health and well-being."In addition, the Rabbi of the Western Wall and holy sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, expressed his appreciation to Interior Minister Arye Deri for his consistent efforts on behalf of those who come to the Western Wall.
