Two IDF soldiers were wounded on Wednesday when Hezbollah terrorists launched explosive drones and rockets towards troops operating in southern Lebanon.
According to the IDF, two explosive drones detonated near the soldiers, leading to one soldier being lightly wounded and another being severely wounded.
The soldiers were evacuated to receive medical treatment, and their families were notified.
In a separate incident, the IDF announced that it had intercepted a hostile aircraft before it could cross into Israeli territory.
Also on Wednesday, the IDF Arabic Spokesperson ordered the evacuation of several towns and villages in southern Lebanon in an X/Twitter post.
Zamir visits Lebanon
IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir visited the El-Khiam area in southern Lebanon on Wednesday where he held an operational assessment, heard briefings from the division commander and brigade commanders, spoke with the battalion commanders fighting on the ground, and toured underground Hezbollah infrastructure located beneath a children's store, the military announced.
Zamir shared his appreciation to the commanders in his address and the importance of their operations.
"Your mission is to remove every threat to our communities and to our soldiers. All of the IDF's capabilities are at your disposal," he said.
"We have a historic opportunity to change the regional reality in the multi-front operation. Cooperation and coordination with the United States military are ongoing, and we are monitoring the situation," he added.
Zamir also spoke on Israel's readiness to resume an attack on Iran if needed.
"In Iran, we have an additional series of targets ready to be struck. We are on high alert to return to a powerful and broad operation that will enable us to deepen our achievements and further weaken the Iranian regime," he said.
IDF kills Hezbollah terrorists, strikes 25 targets over past day
The IDF killed several Hezbollah terrorists and struck multiple structures in southern Lebanon on Tuesday and approximately 25 Hezbollah targets over the past day, the military announced on Wednesday.
The targets included a weapons storage facility, structures used for military purposes, and additional terrorist infrastructure.
