IDF troops, Palestinians clash in Hebron amid protests
Palestinian media reports more than a dozen activists wounded during demonstrations marking 20th anniversary of 1994 shooting attack.

Palestinian activists and IDF forces clashed on Friday in Hebron following a demonstration calling for the reopening of a street in the city.Clashes broke out after Palestinian activists began to hurl stones at Israeli security forces during at a demonstration against the closure of Shuhada street to Palestinians, in the West Bank city.Palestinian media reported that 13 Palestinian had been wounded and five detained after the army used dispersal methods to break up marches commemorating the 20th anniversary of the closure of the street by the IDF in 1994 after Baruch Goldstein, an Israeli settler, shot dead 29 Palestinian worshipers inside the Cave of Patriarchs, know by Muslims as the al-Ibrahimi Mosque.Some 250 protesters, including foreign activists, gathered in the Biblical city to participate in the demonstrations.The army could not confirm any injuries sustained by Israeli troops.
