Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Avigdor Liberman said it was clear that Iran has no intention of slowing down its nuclear program, Israel Radio reported on Saturday.Liberman, speaking during a cultural event in Beersheba, said that Iran does not have even a quarter of intention to slow it's nuclear program and every intelligence agency in the world is aware of that fact. The outspoken Yisrael Beytenu MK echoed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's speech to the UN on Tuesday by saying that Israel was ready to meet the Iranian threat alone if necessary. He added that it was better to fight alone and live, than to bow along with everyone else and explode in the sky.Tensions between Israel and Iran have been high following the UN General Assembly, during which Netanyahu and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani traded accusatory barbs.Rouhani has challenged Israel's reluctance to sign a treaty to dismantle all weapons of mass destruction in the Middle East, while Netanyahu has called Rouhani's overtures to the US a guise for avoiding Western economic sanctions while continuing efforts to create nuclear weapons.
