'PA officially changes name to State of Palestine'
WAFA reports the Palestinian Authority has changed its name, with Abbas signing first presidential decree after successful UN bid.

The Palestinian Authority officially changed its name to the State of Palestine, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.PA President Mahmoud Abbas officially signed his first decrees that bear the name of the State of Palestine on Friday, according to WAFA, in an apparent move to reflect the recent upgrade of the Palestinians' status to non-member observer state at the United Nations General Assembly.Palestinian stamps, signs and letterheads will be changed to reflect this decision, WAFA reported.Also on Friday, tens of thousands took to the streets in Gaza in a demonstration marking 48 years since Fatah's founding. It marked the first time Fatah supporters rallied in Gaza since they were ousted from power in 2007.Reuters contributed to this report.
