PA President Abbas to meet Egyptian President Sisi on Monday
Abbas last met Sisi on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in September.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will meet in Egypt on Monday to discuss efforts to advance reconciliation and revive the peace process between the Palestinians and Israel, a Palestinian diplomat said on Saturday.Abbas and Sisi are scheduled to arrive in Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday for the World Youth Forum.Egypt brokered a deal between Abbas’s Fatah and Hamas in mid-October to advance reconciliation and restore the PA ’s governing authority in the Gaza Strip.Late this month, Egypt is planning to host senior Palestinian officials to discuss the remaining obstacles to reconciliation, including Hamas’s control of weapons.Hamas has said it would not concede its weapons, whereas Abbas, who also serves as Fatah chairman, has said he would not accept a scenario in which the PA controls Gaza and Hamas’s armed wing maintains control of its weapons.Abbas last met Sisi on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
