President El-Sisi of Egypt met President Trump at the White House
President Trump received President El-Sisi at the White House Tuesday and called the Egyptian president "friend."

WASHINGTON - President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt arrived in Washington for a three-day state visit, his second visit to the nation's capital since President Donald Trump took office, and the sixth meeting between the two leaders overall.President Trump received President El-Sisi at the White House Tuesday and called the Egyptian president "friend." Trump told reporters in his brief remarks that the relations between the two nations have never been better than now. He also praised El-Sisi and said: "I think he is doing a great job," and noted that the Egyptian team and the American one would discuss counter-terrorism.The President of Egypt, on his end, thanked President Trump and agreed that the relations between two countries are at its best. El-Sisi added that Trump should be credited for strengthening it on all front, militarily, economically, and culturally.On Monday, El-Sisi also met with Secretary of state, Mike Pompeo. According to a press release from State Department Spokesperson, Morgan Ortagus: The Secretary and the President reaffirmed the strength and importance of the U.S.-Egypt bilateral relationship. The Secretary thanked President Sisi for his leadership in advancing Egypt’s and the region’s security and stability, including through counterterrorism efforts and countering the Iranian regime’s malign influence." She added that "The Secretary and the President also discussed cases concerning U.S. citizens in Egypt."El-Sisi added: "Let me emphasize, Mr. President, that the relations have not been better over the years of our bilateral relationship, and that is why I'm extending, Mr. President, to you our thanks."
