The General Intelligence Department of the Syrian Revolution has revealed an alleged Hezbollah plan to take over Beirut by purposely bombing the organization's own munition factories as well as military positions of the Lebanese army.In a statement released Thursday on its Twitter page, the intelligence department claimed that Hezbollah, in cooperation with forces in the Lebanese army, plans to initiate a wave of attacks against its own facilities in Lebanon which will give it legitimacy to seize Beirut.According to the statement, Hezbollah already has several car bombs prepared to hit the organization's own facilities. By doing so, the organization aims at painting itself as a "terror victim," which will give it legitimacy to operate in Beirut, ostensibly to "uproot terror" but actually, in order to inflame the street and deploy its activists in the Lebanese capital. On Thursday, massive clashes between the Lebanese army and ISIS militants took place in the village of Ras Baalbek in northern Lebanon after a unit of the Lebanese army raided ISIS positions in the village.Although Lebanon has long been fighting ISIS to prevent a possible incursion by the organization into its northern territories, the intelligence department of the Syrian revolution claims that Thursday's clashes were aimed at "cleaning up the image of the Lebanese army which is actually administered by Wafiq Safa (a senior Hezbollah official)."
