Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat has issued a special message wishing Jerusalem Post readers a happy Canada Day and Fourth of July.Speaking from his office in the capital, Barkat thanks Americans and Canadians for "the unconditional support, friendship and love that you have shown us throughout the years."American Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro will be hosting a special Fourth of July gala at his residence on Thursday evening, to be attended by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres.
