Former soccer player Maor Buzaglo and his influential wife Miran went through a difficult experience after a fire broke out in their home last week.
"How do I begin to tell you what happened last night? First and foremost, thank God, everything is fine!" she wrote on Instagram.
"Everyone was asleep, including me,” she recalled. “Then, I heard a small explosion (on days like this, you immediately think of gunfire). We were sleeping downstairs. I rushed to the bedroom door and yelled, 'Who's there?' I saw the reflection of fire in the window and smelled smoke. No response. I asked Maor, 'Why aren't they answering?' Suddenly, the power went out, darkness enveloped us, and there were more explosions."
A scary night
Soon, the Buzaglos realized the house was on fire.
“We rushed the children outside,” she said. “They were terrified. Minutes later, the fire brigade, police, and MDA arrived at our doorstep. It was a miracle! If I hadn't woken up, I can't think of what might have happened; the smoke had filled the house, and the fire was spreading."
Though they were assessed for smoke inhalation, professional teams soon determined that a short circuit caused the fire. Buzaglo took a photo of the charred remains of their once cozy kitchen, remarking, "The speed at which the fire ignited and the amount of smoke in the house was far from normal."
"We could barely breathe! We were so fortunate to wake up in time. Thank God! It's a miracle!" Miran added.
