Selena Gomez was photographed dancing joyfully under a large Israeli flag at the wedding of Samuel Krost and Esther Shemia in Paris. This moment quickly became a topic of heated discussion, adding fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding Gomez's stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

In recent times, anti-Semitism and hatred towards Israel and the Jewish people have become alarmingly prevalent, both on social media and in various online platforms. While Gomez has previously voiced support for the pro-Palestinian movement, she has been accused of neglecting the Israeli perspective.

Consequently, she finds herself facing relentless attacks from pro-Palestinian individuals demanding a clear and unequivocal stance, even if it means invading her personal life and criticizing her choice of events to attend.

The latest wave of criticism towards Gomez emerged after her attendance at the wedding of Samuel Krost, a Jewish fashion brand owner and former romantic interest of the singer. The wedding ceremony adhered to Jewish customs and included vibrant celebrations, accompanied by the proud display of the Israeli flag.

Additionally, popular Israeli singer Omer Adam performed at the event. Videos and photos captured the flag waving exuberantly on the dance floor, accompanied by chants of "Am Yisrael Chai" ("the people of Israel live").

The display of solidarity with Israel during these tumultuous times did not sit well with anti-Semites on social media, who seized the opportunity to launch vitriolic attacks against Gomez. Comments such as "A smelly and ugly Zionist! She is finished" and "I used to be her fan until now, but this crosses all boundaries and is unacceptable" surfaced under photos of Gomez. Some individuals even highlighted the Zionist affiliation of her company's CEO and questioned whether anyone should be surprised by Gomez's actions.

On the other hand, there were those who attempted to remind others of Gomez's past expressions of support for the Palestinian cause. They urged individuals hurling accusations and using the term "Zionist" derogatorily to better understand the term's meaning.

They emphasized that Gomez did not sign the artists' ceasefire petition and that true Zionists do not donate to the Palestinian cause. Examples were given, such as actor Noah Schnapp, who openly expresses his love for Israel.

For those curious about Samuel Krost's connection to Gomez, it is worth noting that the two had a brief relationship that was neither officially confirmed nor denied. They dated for a few months in early 2016, and although they broke up, they maintained a close friendship over the years. They have been spotted together on numerous occasions in 2019 and 2021.

Interestingly, overseas tabloids have highlighted Krost's close relationships with models Y and Bella Hadid, known for spreading misinformation about Israel and promoting anti-Semitic sentiments. It is speculated that the Hadid sisters may have acquired their views from their father, Muhammad Hadid, who has previously made inappropriate comparisons between Israel and the Nazis.

The continued attacks against Selena Gomez underscore the deeply entrenched hatred and bias that exist in conversations surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

While individuals are entitled to their opinions, it is essential to engage in respectful and informative discussions that contribute to understanding and peace, rather than perpetuating animosity and division.
