In a recent TikTok video, an employee at a McDonald’s branch in the US exposed some unappetizing facts that the fast food chain might prefer to hide from its customers.
The video garnered a quarter of a million views, leaving many disgusted by the revelation. However, there were also some viewers who claimed that they were not surprised at all.
“It's called fast food for a reason,” commented one viewer, while another sarcastically asked, “What? You mean to tell me Gordon Ramsay is NOT back there whipping up my burrito?!”
McDonald's pre-made meals: An unsurprising revelation
Some viewers seemed to find the notion of pre-made meals as common knowledge. “Did anyone think it was homemade? We know everything is frozen and just needs to microwave,” wrote one nonchalant commenter.
However, not all reactions were so calm. Some customers expressed frustration, with one exclaiming, “Why [do] they take so long in the line? The food [is] already made.”
The TikTok video provided a glimpse into the kitchen of McDonald’s US, showcasing transparent packaging of pre-made food products, including “egg McMuffins,” stacks of round pancakes, and bags of white mix for the burrito. Although these may not be as popular in McDonald’s branches in Israel, they are undoubtedly a staple in American locations. This behind-the-scenes look has sparked mixed reactions, with some feeling disillusioned and others feeling unsurprised. Nevertheless, the fast food chain remains a go– to option for many.
