Rockets fired from Lebanon at Nahariya; Iron Dome shoots down entire barrage over Ashkelon

Code Red sirens blared in Israel's northern city of Nahariyah in the early hours of Monday morning around 12:30 a.m. as two Katyusha rockets launched from Lebanon landed in open territory outside. IDF artillery responded by targeting the launch site in Lebanon.That rockets followed a previous rocket from Syria that was fired and landed in an open area of the Golan Heights earlier on Sunday night. No injuries or damage were reported. The IDF reported that the rocket was deliberately fired from Syria at Israel.Meanwhile in the country's south, Iron Dome batteries successfully managed to intercept all seven rockets of a barrage launched from Gaza at Ashkelon overnight. No injuries were reported in either incident.The latest rocket attacks follow only hours after southern Israel was subjected a barrage of rockets Sunday night around 8:00 p.m.The Iron Dome Missile Defense System managed to intercept five rockets over Ashdod in that period of rocket fire earlier on Sunday night, while other rockets landed in open areas. There have not been reports of injuries or damage in either wave of rocket attacks.Yaakov Lapin contributed to this report.
