An old Chinese saying goes, “Nothing can separate people with common goals and ideals, not even mountains and seas.”It is fitting then that China and Israel are enjoying increasing cultural cooperation as our two great nations get closer by understanding each other’s historic traditions and civilizations.Culture is a common interest: It plays an important role in the bilateral relationship which brings the people closer together, despite their great geographical distance. On November 26, 2017, a newly established China Cultural Center opened in Tel Aviv, unveiling a new stage in our relations. The CCC is a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to promoting understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture and arts. The center houses a library, an art gallery, a dance studio, a multi-functional hall and two digitalized, multi-purpose classrooms. Combining the cutting-edge facilities with a rich and diversified cultural calendar, the CCC strives to fulfill its roles as a center for cultural, educational and recreational activities, as well as for information and ideological exchange, both on its own premises and at other venues. The CCC provides training courses in Mandarin, martial arts, calligraphy, painting and various folk crafts. It also offers lectures and seminars about China’s cultural heritage and tourism industry, including traditional and modern cultures, visual and performing arts, medicine, cuisine and other fields.Across Israel, the CCC regularly organizes fine art and photography exhibitions, Hebrew or English subtitled films and documentary screenings. The center also hosts performances by distinguished Chinese art groups that are focused on traditional musical instruments, vocal, dance, magic, martial arts and acrobatics. To stage so many cultural activities is a testament to the CCC’s commitment and devotion. What’s more, the CCC serves as a bridge connecting cooperative initiatives with our Israeli counterparts and a hub promoting China-Israel friendship. Chinese President Xi Jinping said, “Friends and neighbors grow closer when they visit each other more often.”It is our deep and sincere wish that more Israeli friends will come to visit the China Cultural Center. Let’s cross the bridge to become true friends and partners! For more information, visit en.cccweb.org/TelAviv.html
