Historic Gathering Celebrates 150 Founding Bukharan Families

Health Minister Uriel Busso, the Chairman of the World Zionist Organization, and dignitaries attending, the Khozaeinoff, Pozilov, Yokhannoff, and other Bukharan families united for a historic event.

A glittering gala held last night at the Binyanei HaUma in Jerusalem brought together dozens of prominent figures and leading families of Bukharan descent in Israel. Among the participants were the Khozaeinoff family, involved in real estate, energy, and investments; the Yokhannoff family, founders of the discount supermarket chain the Pozilov family, renowned in the diamond and jewelry industry and other prominent business leaders.

The event marked 150 years since the first generation of Bukharan Jews immigrated to Israel. Health Minister Uriel Busso, World Zionist Organization Chairman Yaakov Hagoel, and other dignitaries attended the gala. During the event, businessman and real estate entrepreneur Moti Khozaeinoff was declared President of the Brit Yozei Bukhara Association.

Guests included prominent Bukharan families who have become leaders in the Israeli economy, such as the Khozaeinoffs, the Yokhannoffs, the Ben David family (real estate, industry, and investments), the Saidoff family (US real estate, known for acquiring control of Shikun & Binui from Shari Arison in 2018), and the Sharbat family. Also in attendance were the Arbov family, who are heavily involved in the development of luxury residential and commercial real estate projects in the United States, particularly in New York.

Simcha Alishayev, President of the Bukharan community in New York, also attended. The Pozilov family, renowned in the diamond and jewelry industry, were special guests. Pinchas and Ben Zion Pozilov received an award for their lifetime achievements in establishing deep ties with the global diamond industry.

The event celebrated 150 years of heritage and achievements of the Bukharan community in Israel, recognizing the contributions of the founding families to the country.
