Protests originally broke out last week after Netanyahu announced his intention to advance the firing of Shin Bet head Ronen Bar.
Baharav-Miara was absent from the meeting and accused the government of attempting to place itself above the law.
Several former supreme court judges, including Aharon Barak, have signed a petition calling on the government to stop the firing of Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara and Shin Bet head Ronen Bar.
A-G stressed that the government is prohibited from making any decisions or taking any actions regarding the conclusion of the tenure of the head of the Shin Bet.
Bar will end his role on April 10 or when a new Shin Bet chief is appointed - whichever comes first.
The Knesset is set to approve Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s reappointment despite legal challenges.
"A black flag of illegitimacy flies over [this decision]," read a joint call to protest from the organizations.
"The prime minister’s decision to bring Bar’s dismissal to a government vote constitutes a severe conflict of interest and a blatant violation of proper administrative conduct," the petition stated.
With everything that has happened between Netanyahu and Bar in recent days and weeks, his days are numbered, even if he is able to hold on for some period of weeks or months.
"Your insinuations regarding suspicions of "illegality and conflict of interest" represent a complete reversal of justice," said Netanyahu.
