Ex-Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal said Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt have a bigger duty to support the Palestinians.
Despite the government's neutral statement, public sentiment in Jordan strongly favors the Hamas operation against Israel.
Jordan signed a deal with the government in Jerusalem two years ago for doubling the desalinized water supply to Jordan to the tune of 50 million cubic meters a year.
"The basic demand is for him to be put on trial and pay the price," Eli Cohen said. "Such an incident cannot be allowed to pass."
Jordan’s delicate strategic status should not serve as a cover and pretext for echoing knowingly false and flawed accusations against its neighbor Israel.
It’s the second time this month the UAE has called for the UNSC to meet on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The meeting is aimed at giving Palestinians hope for a political future, a senior Jordanian official stated.
