After an Israeli citizen contracted Dengue fever during a trip abroad, Israel is preparing to eliminate populations of the mosquito responsible for the disease.

The Dengue virus is spread through the bite of female Asian tiger mosquitos. The virus does not spread directly between humans.

All poultry coops in a 10 kilometer radius have been locked down to prevent the spread of the virus.
