"The Wagner Group is likely moving towards a down-sizing and reconfiguration process, largely to save on staff salary expenses at a time of financial pressure," said the UK Defense Ministry.
"We move the army closer to the border with Belarus to scare away the aggressor so that it does not dare to attack us," Blaszczak said.
Under Ukraine’s constitution, the transition of power would default to the chairman of Ukraine, who would absorb the responsibilities of the role.
"I have to teach my military, because an army that does not fight is half an army," Lukashenko stated.
The future of Wagner and Prigozhin has been unclear since he led a short mutiny against the Russian defense establishment in late June.
There have been at least seven other coups and military takeovers in Africa in the last decade.
This month, Poland began moving more than 1,000 troops to the east of the country amid rising concerns that the presence of Wagner fighters in Belarus could lead to increased tension on its border.
Prigozhin confirmed to Afrique Media that a new rotation of Wagner forces had recently arrived in the Central African Republic ahead of a constitutional referendum on July 30
"What happened in Niger is nothing other than the struggle of the people of Niger with their colonizers," Prigozhin said.
Also targeted in Monday's action was Mali’s Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Alou Boi Diarra, and Malian Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff, Adama Bagayoko.
