While Israel has not claimed responsibility for the strikes, the IDF has targeted southern Lebanon in the past as it is a stronghold of the Hezbollah terror group.

Syrian air defenses were activated in the Damascus area during the strikes.

Cameraman Samer Abu Daqqa was unable to get to safety or medical treatment after being injured in the strike on the Farhana School in Khan Younis and died of his wounds.
