A spate of reported drone sightings that began in New Jersey in mid-November spread in recent days to include Maryland, Massachusetts and other states.
According to an initial investigation, the drone was likely launched from Yemen, Israeli media reported.
Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew suggested that the drones were being launched from an Iranian "mothership" that was stationed off the East Coast.
The municipality added that the details of the incident were under review by security officials on site, noting that no injuries had been reported.
