You know, sometimes you know something is true, but it is hard to find a specific fact or reference to prove your point.
For example: from my studies of Andrew Jackson, I knew that Indians had been kicked off their land in Georgia and forced to participate in the "Trail of Tears" march to, what was at that time, the Oklahoma territories.
There is no need to go into a great deal of detail about exactly what happened, but at the same time it would be wrong to simply brush off the suffering of these people without comment. Accordingly, this short quote from Wikipedia:
The relocated people suffered from exposure, disease, and starvation while en route, and more than four thousand died before reaching their various destinations. The removal included members of the Cherokee, Muscogee, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw nations. The phrase "Trail of Tears" originated from a description of the removal of the Cherokee Nation in 1838.
Now, Alpharetta Georgia comes into the picture because I was watching a video about "precious metals" produced by: Elliot Wave International when the commentator mentioned he lived in Alpharetta Georgia. Not having heard of the place, I googled it and found an article about the town in Wikipedia.
While the article is very interesting and Alpharetta seems like a beautiful place to live, nevertheless the article also mentioned the Cheerokee Indians, as in: Paul Revere and the Raiders' song:

Now, this song was number 1 in the United States and is still played quite often.
What are the chances Jimmy Carter never heard it?
Nill, Zip, Nada.......
He heard it alright, but the next question is: Does Jimmy Carter know that there were Cheerokees in Georgia?
So, let's add this tidbit to the mix:
The Cherokee removal in 1838 (the last forced removal east of the Mississippi) was brought on by the discovery of gold near Dahlonega, Georgia in 1828, resulting in the Georgia Gold Rush.[6] Approximately 2,000-6,000 of the 16,543 relocated Cherokee perished along the way
Possibly 6,000 dead people !!!.....or as Burney Sanders might say: "A disproportional response".
Remember, Burney Sanders was almost hysterical about 3,000 Palestinians....and was still indignent when he was told it was only 2,300 Palestinians....
Yet, here is 6,000 dead people....

But, for me, while I knew there were Cheerokees in Georgia, until today I never really had a specific story or a specific location. Now I do: Alpharretta, Georgia.

In the 1830s, the Cherokee people in Georgia and elsewhere in the South were forcibly relocated to the Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma) under the Indian Removal Act. Pioneers and farmers later settled on the newly vacated land, situated along a former Cherokee trail stretching from the North Georgia mountains to the Chattahoochee River.[4]
One of the first permanent landmarks in the area was the New Prospect Camp Ground (also known as the Methodist Camp Ground), located beside a natural spring near what is now downtown Alpharetta.[4] It later served as a trading post for the exchanging of goods among settlers
So, once again, what are the chances that a former governor of Georgia does not know these things?
Well, Jimmy Carter is from Plains. Georgia. Where is that?
Plains, Georgia is in the middle of the state, while Alpharetta, is quite a bit north of there....Also, Plains did not have Cheerokees, it had a tribe by the name of: "The Muscogee People" and they were a part of the Creek Confederacy of tribes
BUT !!! Lo and behold Wikipedia does it again:
Muscogee people were forcibly relocated in the early 19th century to Indian Territory (now Oklahoma), Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. Their languages, Muscogee and Hitchiti-Mikasuki, belong to the Eastern Muskogean branch of the Muscogean language family.
So, what do you think the possibility of Jimmy Carter, a former governor of Georgia, not knowing the history of his own town?
Zip, Zilch, Nada......and, because Jimmy Carter is a Spanish speaker, let's add: "No way, Jose"....
