Hamas terrorists were captured on footage plating explosives 45 meters from the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia in northern Gaza, the IDF revealed on Monday night.
IDF troops under the command of the 162nd Brigade killed terrorists who tried to flee the hospital and neutralized the areas nearby that were rigged with explosives in an operation that was completed last week.
Dozens of terrorists were also arrested.
The IDF called it "another example of Hamas' cynical use of the citizens and civilian institutions in Gaza for terrorist acts in blatant violation of international law."
Expanded operations
This comes after the IDF said on Sunday that it may need to prolong keeping nearby Jabalya cut-off from Gaza City amid the military’s expanded operations to wipe northern Gaza clear of regrouping Hamas cells, and following the massive bust of Hamas activity in Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabalya on Friday.
On Friday, the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) arrested over 240 terrorists in a targeted operation against Hamas terror infrastructure embedded within the Kamal Adwan Hospital.
Both Jabalya and Gaza City are broadly part of northern Gaza. Beit Hanun and Beit Lahia are also part of the northernmost half of the enclave.
The backdrop of this is continuing debate about whether Israel will implement a plan known as “the General’s Plan,” to empty all of northern Gaza of Palestinians and cut it off completely.
The IDF, in coordination with the Shin Bet, arrested over 240 terrorists in a targeted operation against Hamas terror infrastructure embedded within the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Jabaliya, northern Gaza, the military announced on Friday.
