Poriya Medical Center, Tiberias, reported on Friday morning that four additional patients have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Most notably, a positive response was received in a test done on one of the physicians in the orthopedic ward, prompting a complete shutdown of the orthopedic department of the hospital and the immediate home quarantine of 38 medical personnel.The doctor is currently in isolation and is in light condition.
The orthopedic department at Poriya Medical Center will no longer be accepting new patients, and patients currently hospitalized in the department will be treated by other staff members.
The announcement also stated that the Infection Prevention Unit is conducting an epidemiological investigation into the matter.
