Dozens of social workers blocked the Arlozorov-Namir junction in Tel Aviv on Monday morning in protest, Maariv reported. Their grievances include a rash of recent incidents in which social workers reported instances of abuse. They are currently engaged in negotiations with the Ministry of Finance for better working conditions.Recent incidents that prompted the protest include an attack in Ilut, an Arab-Israeli community near Nazareth, an incident during a court hearing in Tel Aviv and an incident at a "connection center" in Jerusalem. Connection centers are usually used for non-custodial parents to visit their children. Israel has one of the highest rates of the use of such centers in the world.
