UN peacekeepers injured in south Lebanon explosion

Several UNIFIL peacekeepers were injured Wednesday night in an accidental munitions explosion in south Lebanon, Lebanese authorities and UN officials said.
UNIFIL military spokesman Lt. Naresh Bhatt said the blast took place near the village of Tiri during a routine activity at a UNIFIL post. He said several troops were injured, including one in serious condition. Bhatt did not provide the soldiers' nationalities.
Lebanese security officials said at least five French peacekeepers were injured in the explosion. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with military regulations.
