A team Brothers in Arms teamed up with the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality last week to equip and upgrade kindergartens in hotels that are housing evacuees from the South and the North.

Trucks and equipment arrived at each hotel to set up kindergartens accommodating approximately 100 children who were evacuated from Kiryat Shmona, Sderot, and settlements on the border with Lebanon.

The teams responsible for the children's care consist of kindergarten teachers from the Education Ministry and specially recruited local staff. The establishment of these preschools in the evacuated hotels takes only a few days, with a strong focus on pedagogical concepts, excellence, and building connections with the hotel's community, local authorities, and the Education Ministry. The ultimate goal is to provide the children with a valuable routine and give parents peace of mind knowing that their children are in a safe, high-quality, and permanent environment.

Kindergartens have also been established in the Dead Sea

The 15 kindergartens in Tel Aviv are an extension of the 11 already established in hotels in the Dead Sea. In the next phase, members of Brothers in Arms will establish dozens of additional kindergartens for the residents of Kiryat Shmona, Metula, and other northern settlements who were relocated to Tiberias. The aim is to provide a swift and high-quality response wherever it is needed for those displaced from their homes across the country.

"A well-structured framework for children allows parents to take a moment for themselves amidst their challenges," Avi Naor, initiator and manager of the "Achim Lataf" (brothers for children) program for preschoolers at the Brothers in Arms volunteer headquarters. "The joy in children's eyes as they enter the well-prepared kindergarten, the warm welcome from our recruited kindergarten teachers, and the relief experienced by parents who can now tend to personal matters or work remotely are the driving factors behind this initiative."
