Four IDF soldiers were killed while fighting in Southern Lebanon, the IDF confirmed on Tuesday.
The military shared the names of the fallen soldiers: Captain Noam Madmoni, Staff Sergeant Ben Cohen, Staff Sergeant Maxsim Entis, and Staff Sergeant Gilad Harel.
During the incident, two additional soldiers were wounded, one in serious condition and the other with moderate wounds.
The families of all affected soldiers have been notified, the military said.
Nine IDF soldiers have been killed fighting in Lebanon since the beginning of Operation Roaring Lion on February 28th.
Speaking to communities in northern Israel before Passover, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, head of the IDF’s Northern Command shared his condolences with the families of the fallen and “a speedy recovery to the wounded.”
“The fighters who fell yesterday fought to protect the north, to remove the threat and for being a buffer between you, the civilians, and the Hezbollah terrorists,” he said, adding that there have been “significant achievements in the fighting.”
“Our spirit is strong and while we may have more difficult incidents on the way, we will investigate them, learn from them and keep looking straight ahead. We are fighting for our freedom.”
He concluded by wishing municipality leaders and residents of Israel’s north a happy holiday.
“We are working and fighting so that you can celebrate quietly in the rear while we are at the front,” he went on. “Every conversation with you gives us strength and explains why we are here."
