Two Arab Israeli parents were shot in their car with their six-year-old son in the backseat in Lod on Saturday night.Gadoah and Amal Zabarka were found dead in their car, while their child fled the scene and hasn’t been found yet. They were on the way to pick up their 15-year-old son to celebrate his birthday.“We examined them but they showed no signs of life,” said emergency services motorcyclist Eitan Shnor.A riot broke out when the news of their deaths reached the neighborhood in Lod where they lived in.Two unnamed men were shot near the Lod police station on Saturday evening just two hours after the couple was found. One was pronounced dead and the other is in critical condition at Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center. The causes for the shooting remain unclear yet. It is suspected that the second shooting was a revenge killing for the death of the couple.Shots were heard in the city after their deaths were made public and unconfirmed reports claim police is pouring extra men and police cars into Lod.MK Yousef Jabareen (Joint List) said, “Our [Arab-Israeli] blood is spilled and the administration does nothing.”“I blame [the administration] for attempting a ‘divide and rule’ policy, which allows the internal violence to continue,” he said, “No other explanation stands to reason [when we ask] why don’t the police take illegal firearms away, as long as those shot and killed are Arabs.”
