Religious courts will be allowed to serve as arbitrators in civil disputes, the Knesset decided early on Tuesday morning.

The Knesset passed the bill expanding the powers of religious courts, such as a rabbinical or Sharia court, in its second and third reading.

The religious courts will only have the ability to arbitrate a civil dispute with the consent of all parties involved.
