Israel Beiteinu became the latest victim of hackers targeting Israeli political websites when pro-Palestinian photos and text appeared Saturday on its home page.Visitors to the party’s website on Saturday would have discovered the English headline “Beytenu Owned” at the top, followed by a picture of a large Palestinian flag spread below pyramids, and text, mostly in Arabic.span style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: underline">RELATED:Analysis: Hearing Lieberman’s footstepsOpinion: Lieberman and the naked emperor“The party of the criminal [Avigdor] Lieberman – in spite of you and all of the Zionists, the peace agreement will be signed,” read the text, referring to the Egyptian-brokered deal worked out between Hamas and Fatah last week.To reinforce the point, the hackers also wrote “Fatah+Hamas=Palestine” and messages condemning the foreign minister. In response, Israel Beiteinu secretary-general MK Faina Kirschenbaum said that “those who are behind this act of vandalism are supporters of Palestinian terror, and it is now clear that they are also attempting to instill terror on the Internet as well.Israel Beiteinu will continue to make its voice heard in the clearest manner at every opportunity, and in the future.”This was the third such hacker attack against an Israeli political website in less than a week. On Wednesday, a group calling itself “Kuwait Team Hackers” took over Kadima MK Yoel Hasson’s website, where it posted an audio of Muslim prayers.“The attack on my website and against other sites in the recent past is part of modern warfare by enemy elements against Israel through the Internet,” Hasson said. “This will neither deter nor weaken us. Israel must be prepared for attacks such as these and to know how to fight in a new environment of Internet combat.”Two days earlier, hackers who associated themselves with the Gaza Strip attacked the “Go Kadima” website.
