Yom Ha'atzmaut 2011: Events in and around Jerusalem

The capital will be alive with events ranging from street parties to open mic nights as well as museums opening their doors for free.

Streets are alive with the sound of music
On the main stage at Zion Square Sarit Hadad, Aviva Avidan and Meital Hochman will be performing. Joining them will be DJ Elad spinning the decks. At Kikar HaHatulim there will be a street party for young people with Silan, Regev Hod as well as Funk music and Israeli music. At Mahane Yehuda market, an electronica party will be held.

Magnificat Open Music
Teachers and students of the Magnificat Institute in concert.

A special Independence Day event for the whole family, including ceramics, mosaics, pita baking, a petting zoo and a paper workshop.

Museums Open to the Public
The Israel Museum, the Bloomfield Science Museum and the Old Yishuv Court Museum in the Old City are open free of charge. Call for hours.
