The recent actions of the chief prosecutor of the ICC to want to issue arrest warrants against two leaders of Israel are against the very foundational principles of the mandate of the ICC.
The ICC and its prosecutor will need, in due course, to explain why they chose to disregard both the publicly available evidence of Hamas’s continued responsibility for war crimes.
The measure is not expected to become law, but reflects continuing support for Israel in Congress amid international criticism over the Middle East country's campaign in the Gaza Strip.
Johnson said he hopes President Biden listens to other Democrats who are denouncing the ICC and calling for actions.
