Isaac Herzog is an Israeli politician and the country's current president, being the first president to have been born in Israel after the Declaration of Independence was announced.
In the past, Herzog had served several terms in the Knesset in the Labor Party and the Zionist Union in partnership with the Tzipi Livni-led Kadima.
His father, Chaim Herzog, was Israel's sixth president and his grandfather, Yitzhak Halevi Herzog, was chief rabbi of both Ireland and Israel. Currently, his brother Mike Herzog is Israel's ambassador to the US.
“We will not stop until every single person in Israel who has a need for food receives the basics that they deserve," said Yael Eckstein, the president of IFCJ.
"These brave boys and girls, who faced loss and pain at a young age and were forced to grow up early, are a source of inspiration for the strength and power of life," Herzog said.

Herzog told Peña that after the painful and agonizing year that Israel has gone through, Paraguay’s friendship is very meaningful.
