Isaac Herzog

Isaac Herzog is an Israeli politician and the country's current president, being the first president to have been born in Israel after the Declaration of Independence was announced.

In the past, Herzog had served several terms in the Knesset in the Labor Party and the Zionist Union in partnership with the Tzipi Livni-led Kadima.

His father, Chaim Herzog, was Israel's sixth president and his grandfather, Yitzhak Halevi Herzog, was chief rabbi of both Ireland and Israel. Currently, his brother Mike Herzog is Israel's ambassador to the US.
