The inquiry surfaced as internet monitors and media reported near-total connectivity loss across Iran, renewing attention on satellite internet as a tool to bypass state shutdowns.

This comes after Starlink said in December that one of its satellites experienced an anomaly in space, creating a "small" amount of debris and cutting off communications with the spacecraft.

Titled "ENSURING AMERICAN SPACE SUPERIORITY," the order calls on the Pentagon and US intelligence agencies to create a space security strategy, and urges efficiency among private contractors.

A live Blue Origin webcast showed the rocket ascending from its launch tower through clear afternoon skies in a thunder of flames and billowing clouds of vapor.

The number of US users reporting issues fell below 1,000 as of 1:15 a.m. ET, down from a peak of more than 43,000, Downdetector said.

The satellite’s first orbiting of Earth will take only 30 hours. After that, it will slow down and orbit Earth five times over a period of two weeks.

While normal crew rotation missions last roughly six months, the Crew-11 crew may be the first to settle into a new routine time of eight months.

For this experiment, Sheba will partner with the US firm SpaceTango to grow several bacterial species aboard the ISS using a specially designed Earth-controlled system.
