The horrific massacre in Sydney was a terrifying breaking point. But it did not emerge in a vacuum.

Schlanger was at the Hanukkah event to mark the first night of Hanukkah, with over 2,000 in attendance, when two terrorists shot into the crowd, killing at least 10 and wounding dozens. 

This is not only a failure of government. It is a failure of law enforcement culture, of university leadership, of media judgment, and of national nerve.

An attack on Jews celebrating their faith is an attack on Australia itself. It is an assault on our values, our social cohesion, and the basic right of people to gather without fear.

No IDF injuries were reported. 

Several more were wounded in the mass shooting targeting a Hanukkah celebration, including an Israeli, the Foreign Ministry added.

Ben-Gvir also renewed his efforts to dismantle the grave of the terrorist Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, founder of the Black Hand and known as "the Arab Joseph Trumpeldor."

The tunnel stretched approximately seven to ten kilometers, leading to dozens of living quarters and Hamas command posts.

One of the suspects had presented his idea for the Christmas market attack, which the suspects planned to use a car to carry out, while at a mosque in the Dingolfing-Landau area.

Prosecutor Christopher Hewertson claimed the defendants researched how to acquire an AR-15 automatic weapon, and wanted to acquire 3D printing equipment to print gun parts.
